Christopher Moore

We had fun talking about the humor of Christopher Moore. Between us, we read the following three of his books:

Fluke: Or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings – very clever sci fi with primordial pink goo. This goo was very interesting because we had just finished Lost in a Good Book (the next in the Tuesday Next series that began with The Eyre Affair which we read last month) and it ALSO ends with pink goo.

Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal – this would have been a good one to read after Magdalene since it gives the story of the Jesus’ lost years leading up to the Passover and crucifixion.

The Stupidest Angel – It’s really a Christmas horror story and a little too “flesh-eating zombie” to be humorous for our age level.

Here’s more info। ओं Moore In general, he’s very funny। We think he is a perpetual adolescent boy. Much of the sexual humor is so outrageous that it’s beyond sexism, with males and females being equal marks. What makes him intriguing to us is his intelligence, there’s often some science or historical fact behind his clever stories which cause us to stop, reflect, and think “That’s cool!”
